Highlight: forms

Please note that there are no more forms in preliminary version with version 11.20. The last form in preliminary version, T2203 - Provincial and territorial taxes for 2007 - Multiple jurisdictions, is now available in its final version.

Corrections

    Federal

Line 365 - Children's fitness amount: An additional amount of $500 is now calculated, provided that a minimum of $100 is paid on registration or membership fees for a prescribed program of physical activity, if the child qualifies for the disability amount and is under 18 years of age at the beginning of the year.

    Manitoba

The provincial credit for adoption is now calculated according to a maximum of $10,000 per child rather than a $10,000 total amount.

New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador

The low-income tax reduction is now given to taxpayers less than 19 years of age as of December 31, 2007.

Important notes

Pension income splitting in Quebec (schedule Q) and calculation of instalments

If a refund was claimed on line 235 of the federal tax return in the case where no pension income splitting occurred, and that following a pension income splitting the amount on line 235 were to be different, the calculation of the estimate for the instalments to be paid in Quebec for the years 2008 and 2009 would therefore be incorrect. We recommend that you notify your clients in this situation to make their instalment payments according to the information that they will receive to that effect from Revenu Quebec.

    Back-up copy

Improvements have been brought to the program in order to increase the speed when creating a back-up copy of your database.

    Status summary

It is now possible once again to obtain the status summary for your clients only. To do so, use the Your clients only filter and then access the Management menu and select the Status summary option.

Authorization number added for TP-646-V

The Quebec authorization number (RQFS-0701) that did not appear in the upper right corner of page 1 of the TP-646-V Trust tax return is now displayed with the new version 11.20. Note however that while Revenu Québec has agreed to accept the tax returns without the authorization number that have been submitted with version 11.10 or 11.12, this might cause delays in the processing of the returns. We therefore recommend that you always keep your version of DT Max up to date by downloading the latest version whenever available.
